The Legacy of 1950
Established in 1950, the W.H. Wilburn Lake Como Day Parade stands as a testament to the resilience and collective strength of our community. What began as a small gathering of Black families in Lake Como, Texas, has grown into one of the longest-running Fourth of July traditions in the state. We honor the pioneers who built this neighborhood from the ground up, creating a legacy of stability and culture that continues to inspire generations today.
